Our purpose

Christensen Prosthodontics exists for one reason — to give people back what missing or failing teeth take away.

Meet the specialists

The founding story

It began with a specialist's standard.

Christensen Prosthodontics was founded in 1976 by Gordon J. Christensen, a prosthodontist — the specialist who restores and replaces teeth. From the start, the goal was simple and demanding: do high-stakes restorative work to a specialist's standard, and explain it clearly to the people who trust us with it. That standard still guides everything we do. We focus on the work that asks the most of a dentist — dental implants, implant reconstruction, full-mouth rehabilitation, and complex crowns, bridges, and dentures — and we take the time to do it well.

The legacy

Two generations of prosthodontists, one practice.

In 1991, Dr. Gordon Christensen's son, Dr. William Christensen, joined the practice as a prosthodontist. Today the two work side by side in Orem, sharing the same careful approach to restorative care. For our patients, that means the experience and judgment of a practice built over decades, paired with the steady, day-to-day attention of a second specialist who shares the same standard. It is care built on continuity — one approach, carried forward. Our care is also informed by a lifetime of dental research: Gordon Christensen and his wife, Dr. Rella Christensen, co-founded Clinical Research Associates — known today as Clinicians Report — an independent organization that studies dental products and techniques.

Our approach

A clear path, explained.

Big decisions deserve a clear path. Here is how care usually unfolds, so nothing comes as a surprise.

01

We listen first

Tell us what's going on. We take the time to understand your goals before anything begins.

02

We examine and plan

A careful, full look at your mouth — then a plan for the whole thing before treatment starts.

03

We walk you through your options

Your choices in plain language. We tell you what we would do and what we would not.

04

We restore, step by step

The work, one step at a time — comfortable, informed, and done to a specialist's standard.

05

We follow up and care for the result

We stay with you after treatment, caring for the result so it holds up over time.

Common questions

What patients ask about our practice

What is a prosthodontist, and how are they different from a regular dentist?
A prosthodontist is a dental specialist who focuses on restoring and replacing teeth. After dental school, they complete several years of additional training in complex restorative care, so they handle cases that go beyond routine dentistry.
What does Christensen Prosthodontics do?
Christensen Prosthodontics is a prosthodontics specialty practice in Orem, Utah. We provide dental implants, full-mouth rehabilitation, and restorative work like crowns, bridges, and dentures to rebuild healthy, natural-looking smiles.
Who are the doctors at Christensen Prosthodontics?
The practice was founded in 1976 by prosthodontist Dr. Gordon J. Christensen. In 1991 his son, Dr. William Christensen, joined as a prosthodontist, and the two work side by side in Orem, Utah, sharing the same careful approach to restorative care.
Why should I see a specialist instead of my regular dentist for implants or major work?
A prosthodontist has years of extra training focused on restoring and replacing teeth. For dental implants, full-mouth rehabilitation, or complex work, that focused experience helps plan and complete demanding cases with care.
Can a prosthodontist fix worn, damaged, or missing teeth?
Yes. Restoring worn or damaged teeth and replacing missing ones is exactly what prosthodontists do. At our Orem, Utah practice, we use crowns, bridges, dentures, and dental implants to rebuild both function and appearance, from a single tooth to a full-mouth rehabilitation.
How do I schedule a consultation at Christensen Prosthodontics?
The best first step is a consultation, where a prosthodontist reviews your teeth and goals and explains your options. Please contact our Orem, Utah office through the form on our website to set up a visit.
